Rustica workshop unites stakeholders in pursuit of bio-based fertilizer innovation in Friuli Venezia Giulia
The Rustica project workshop brought together a diverse array of stakeholders to discuss the latest developments and strategies in bio-based fertilizers. With participants hailing from various sectors of the BBF value chain, the event showcased collaborative efforts aimed at advancing sustainable agricultural practices.
The project team witnessed robust engagement, with 17 attendees, including 10 key stakeholders, converging to explore avenues for bio-based fertilizer (BBF) innovation.
Representatives spanning various sectors of the BBF value chain, alongside new stakeholders, infused fresh perspectives into the regional network.
The update session provided attendees with a comprehensive overview of the latest developments. This included updates on ongoing and planned experimental field tests across multiple regions, namely Flanders, Almeria, Pays de la Loire, and Friuli Venezia Giulia. Key highlights of the session included the evaluation of market opportunities and the assessment of regional business model scenarios, setting the stage for strategic planning.
Delving into the intricacies of business models, stakeholders engaged in the Regional Business Model Design session. Here, two distinct models were examined, paving the way for innovative approaches in BBF implementation. The inclusion of diverse stakeholders enriched discussions, fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange.
An interactive session on Social Life Cycle Assessment (SLCA) provided attendees with a deeper understanding of the social implications of BBF initiatives. Through rigorous analysis and discussion of impact and relevance, stakeholders navigated complexities to chart sustainable pathways forward.
As the workshop drew to a close, participants were invited to provide feedback through a concise questionnaire. Their input and suggestions will inform future workshops, ensuring continued progress and collaboration in the Rustica project.
