Congress on Sustainable Agriculture and Food Security (COSAFS2024)

July 10 - July 13

This congress includes three concurrent international conferences focusing on indigenous crops, fisheries and animal sciences, and food and industrial crops. It offers a platform for discussing innovative agricultural practices, technological advancements, and sustainable agriculture solutions. The event aims to foster collaborations and share knowledge among farmers, researchers, policymakers, and industry stakeholders (UPM Conference).

The Congress on Sustainable Agriculture and Food Security (COSAFS2024) will take place in Bintulu, Sarawak, Malaysia, tentatively on July 10th – 13th. COSAFS2024 offers a platform for learning about innovative agricultural practices, technological advancements, local food systems, national and international food policy, and any other initiatives that support sustainable agriculture and food security. Additionally, this event will give farmers, researchers, consumers, organizations, institutions, corporate entities, and communities the chance to forge stronger partnerships in the pursuit of sustainable agriculture or, for some, the goal of making Sarawak the net exporter of food by the year 2030.

COSAFS2024 is an umbrella of three concurrent international conferences namely, 3rd International Scientific Conference on Indigenous Crops (3rd ISCIC), 2nd International Conference on Fisheries and Animal Sciences (2nd FISAS) and 2nd International Conference on Food and Industrial Crops (2nd ICFIC).

The third iteration of 3rd ISCIC since its launch in 2018 will concentrate on acknowledging the potential of native plants as farmed crops via sustainable management. With an emphasis on production, research, and conservation, 2nd FISAS will address crucial concerns with fisheries and livestock for sustainable development. 2nd ICFIC will concentrate on both crop-oriented and bio-based materials with regard to the sustainable growth of food and industrial crops in Malaysia and around the world.

These conferences will feature thought-provoking keynote speeches, oral and poster presentations on sustainable agriculture and food security, and are expected to draw more than 300 academics, research scientists, farmers, politicians, and officials from the public and commercial sectors.

Objectives

  • To provide a platform to exchange knowledge between conference participants.
  • To promote and strengthen international and national collaborations in sustainable agriculture and food security.
