Flemish stakeholders workshop on RUSTICA project calls for external validation

Despite efforts to convene stakeholders for the RUSTICA project workshop in Flanders, organizers faced a setback with a significantly lower turnout than anticipated.

Despite initial registrations, several attendees canceled, leaving the gathering with fewer than the targeted participants.

To ensure comprehensive feedback despite the low turnout, organizers are actively seeking validation from stakeholders who had previously expressed interest in the project. This inclusive approach aims to gather valuable insights and perspectives, further enhancing the project’s development and direction.

The organizers began proceedings with a technical update on the project ensued, including insights into two business models tailored for Flanders. Moreover, participants effectively engaged in the Social Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) exercise, ranking social topics on an impact-relevance scale, leading to insightful discussions on the project’s social implications.

Evaluation of the workshop’s effectiveness was conducted through a verbal group discussion, and the workshop concluded with a guided field visit to a leek test plot for Rustica bio-based fertilisers at PCG. Participants received detailed booklets containing observations and measurements conducted over recent months, enriching their understanding of the project’s practical applications.
