WP6. Integration and demonstration

WP6 will design and build integrated pilot systems, use the waste streams from the 5 RUSTICA regions to validate the production cascade at lab scale, and validate the lab results at pilot scale, producing 5 tonnes of bio-based fertilisers precursors for field trials.

Five multi-valorisation cascade will be examined at lab-scale for each of the case study regions, based on technical results obtained in WP5, along with local stakeholder feedbacks. At the initial screening of the waste types and processing technologies, two regions will be selected for pilot demonstrations. This approach will allow all innovative technologies tested at lab-scale to be validated in at least one test site. The pilot demonstrators in Almeria and Pays de la Loire will produce the right amount of output products for the production of fertilisers, and to be validated in pot and field test.
